Pickleball Drills & Skills Workouts for Equally Skilled Partners

Most people agree you can’t improve playing a game just by playing the game. In this class, basic shots of the game will be practiced multiple times in different drills in various game-like scenarios. The shots covered include serves, return-of-serves (drives), dinks, drop shots, lobs, and volleys (including blocks and overhead smashes).  Emphasis will be placed on being more intentional about technique, targets, and tactics. At the end of each session, time will be given to play a game applying what’s been drilled. Entering game results into DUPR will be encouraged. Students are also encouraged to set up their smartphone and video-record themselves during the drills and games. Eye protection is recommended. This class is not for beginners. To get optimum benefit from these drills, come with an equally-skilled, competitive partner. Registration is for an individual and one partner. The partner’s name and e-mail address must be provided at registration. Min. 2 pairs. Maximum 4 pairs. Instructor: Bob McIntyre, PPR Certified Pickleball Coach.

Needed: Volunteer Court Coordinators

The Town of Brookfield Parks & Rec Department is looking for Volunteer Court Coordinators to participate in and help manage pickleball Open Play sessions. A VCC can play during any Open Play session without paying the registration fee. A VCC prepares the courts, checks-in registered players, makes the standard ball available, and sees that games and player rotations run smoothly.  A VCC has the authority to designate one or more of the courts for more advanced players and then oversees that only advanced players play on the designated court(s). Please contact the Parks & Rec department if you are interested in being a VCC.
